Did you know the Jardur Bezelmeter
chronograph (est.1937) was the only tool watch that sported a “degreemeter”
scale on the face?
The basic mathematics of navigation
is based on the concept of vectors, which are defined by direction and distance
magnitude. Before GPS became available, measuring distance along any vector
while airborne used the product of speed and elapsed time. In addition standard
rate turns used degrees per second. Both are computations facilitated by the
chronograph’s timing function and by the unique degreemeter scale on the dial
of the Bezelmeter 960. The standard rate turn has absolutely no significance to
anyone except a trained pilot.
